The Freezing Fog formed in early 2005 after the mystical power of the riff summoned them to take up their axes and do battle with the evil spirits overcoming the land. Their mission was clear, to slay all in their path with the vintage power of old and to reign triumphant above all. They realised this would not be an easy task to undertake, and many had warned them against it, but nevertheless the riff compelled them and The Fog was born.
The initial mystical sorcery of The Freezing Fog was pressed onto a magical seven inch to tell the people of their mission, and the fine establishment that is Calculated Risk Products put this sacred text transcript out to the masses. Henceforth The Knights of The Fog embarked upon the first stage of their perilous journey across the barren lands of the realm, spreading their powers on stages up and down the land, slaying the beasts in their path.
Now the Fog lay resting, awaiting their calling to cross the vast ocean to lay down their debut album "March Forth To Victory" in the dangerous lands of the USA. This is expected to emerge from the mist in the Summer of 2007 as an alliance with the High priests of Roadkill Records. Up until then, rest easy my children for the Freezing Fog, THEY ARE ALIVE!!!!!!!

Raucous was formed early in 2004 after numerous meetings between the members which culminated in a series of initial jams. After shifting the members around a touch and doing further jamming Raucous was born. They eventually got themselves to a small studio in Manchster to record what was there "Nothing Says I Love you ..." Demo, which was sold at gigs and circulated among friends and on the internet.
After months of jamming in the bowels of Manchester creating monstrous grooves, the beast we now know as Raucous finally emerged in 2004 to critical acclaim on the live circuit. Within the past two years supporting underground heavyweights such as Mono (Temporary Residence), Unsane (Relapse), Zombi (Relapse), Pelican (Hydra Head), Red Sparowes (Neurot), 5ive Continuum Research Project (Tortuga/Hydra Head), Beecher (Earache/Calculated Risk), Mistress (Earache), Ramesses (Invada), Narcosis (Calculated Risk), GWAR, Guapo (Ipecac), Made Out Of Babies (Neurot), Atavist (Invada), Tigers and Little Explorer.
Their debut "In The Name Of moving On" is Seven tracks of crushing heaviness interspersed with skewed melody and moments of fragile beauty. This album will please fans of Neurosis as it will fans of Mogwai, such is the variation on display. Themes of regret, despair and moving on nestle alongside epic soaring melodies and low end droning to create what is undoubtedly a stunning debut record for Raucous

Day For Airstrikes have played every kitchen, living room, bedroom and hallway you can think of in their short lifespan. Forming in mid 2003 but not fully finding their feet until almost a year later, the band have made a name for themselves as being an intensely loud and energetic live act. They self-released their debut EP "Secret Whale" in March 2005, the strength of which alone elevated them to being regarded as one of the finest young bands in blossoming Manchester scene.
They've spent the last year honing their sound, gaining a new member and building drum kits out of pretty much everything. The result of which has emerged as the new album 'Widows', which moves them far beyond the lazy comparisons to Sigur Ros and Explosions in the Sky and truly defines their sound. From the Floyd-esque "Ask Ted Danson" to the crushing finale of "Less Worrier More Warrior" via the pop-fuelled dancebeats of "The Craftiest Plan Known To Man", DFA prove that they are far more than the sum of their parts. 'Widows' is a visionary record that promises something new with each listen, and combined with an eclectic live show, this band will be shooting onto a lot of people's radar this summer.
